Don't blame them, poor fellows, 3 tough days have passed and they are tired, hungry and have never been out in the wild before, have you paid attention to the color of their thighs? it's freezing cold out there man! show a little tenderness, will ya? They thought if a man can draw a rabbit out of a hat (a top hat that is) why not a baby giraffe out of a Stetson! That seemed like the logical way of thinking, although mommy giraffe won't agree to it. Knives are out now and I'm afraid they won't return back dry to their holsters.

Dass unter Kaninchenmagiern Giraffenkinder aus dem Stetson anstatt weisser Artgenossen aus dem Zylinder gezogen werden, hält die Giraffenmutter für faulen Zauber. Da ist es wohl am besten ein neues Jagdrevier zu ergründen. Egal, das Vieh hätte so wie so nicht in den Einkaufskorb gepasst. Allerdings: die Zeit drängt, der Magen knurrt und die Beine sind inzwischen rot gefroren. Das Schlachtermesser wird jedenfalls gezückt bleiben bis der geeignete Festtagsbraten erlegt ist. Wird unseren Freunden das Jagdglück hold sein oder werden sie wegen gefrorener Hasenfüsse eine schmähliche Niederlage hinnehmen müssen? Das und vieles mehr, geneigter Leser, erfahren wir im nächsten Kapitel unseres Kaninchenepos.
